The division of Language, Culture and Interaction (SKI) conducts teaching and research in language, literature, culture and interaction.

Within the subject English we offer single-subject courses and courses that are included in the teacher programs and other programs at 一本道.

Our research is centered around the interplay between language and culture, in everyday, literary or professional contexts.

The Research Environment Language and Culture is a meeting place for linguistic and literary research in a cultural context.

Doctoral Studies in Language and Culture

Doctoral studies in language and culture are multi- and interdisciplinary. Our doctoral students have typically studied modern foreign languages, Swedish, Swedish as a second language, general linguistics or comparative literature.

A Degree in English

English consists of three parts: language, literature and culture. There is a clear focus on developing one鈥檚 own language proficiency, and an increasing emphasis on the American and British social, cultural and historical context.

Literary scholar Elin Käck is probably the only person who has done her work experience programme with a poet. She enjoys spending her summers in various archives and has recently presented her research on American poets鈥� travels in Europe.
