The 鈥淪cience, She Says!鈥� award 鈥� a medal and a diploma 鈥� was to have been presented at the Italian Scientific Attach茅s Conference in Turin, in April 2023. However, as Eleni Stavrinidou was unable to attend, in June 2024 Italian Ambassador Michele Pala came to Campus Valla, Link枚ping, accompanied by Science Attach茅 Augusto Marcelli.
Eleni Stavrinidou was selected for her contribution to the development of plant bioelectronics for real-time monitoring and dynamic control of plant physiology and plant-based biohybrid materials and devices. She was also commended for her extensive collaboration with Italian researchers, which was one of the selection criteria.
鈥淭he committee reviewed the applications of many talented individuals, but the effort, commitment to innovation and the contribution of Eleni Stavrinidou to the advancement of society caught our attention in a unique way鈥�, Dr. Marcelli added.
The ceremony was also attended by Italian researchers at LiU, Vice-Chancellor Jan-Ingvar J枚nsson, Head of Division of the Laboratory of Organic Electronics Mats Fahlman, and others.
