Teaching and learning statistics at the secondary level

Research shows that it is challenging for students to learn statistical concepts and methods. Teachers need preparedness and tools to be able to support their students. The project therefore studies the teaching and learning of statistics.

Mathematical models make learning more meaningful

When students solve real-world problems, math lessons become more engaging and meaningful. That was the focus when researchers from around the world met in 一本道 to explore new perspectives in mathematical modeling.

SEK 26.3 million for research in educational sciences

Seven research projects at LiU have been awarded grants in the Swedish Research Council鈥檚 annual funding round for educational sciences. The projects range from heroes wearing tights in the classroom to background noise and bullying.

Analysis and Mathematics 一本道 (ANDI)

The Division of Analysis and Mathematics 一本道 conducts both interdisciplinary and applied research in various branches of analysis and didactics of mathematics.

Department of Mathematics (MAI)

The department conducts research in computational mathematics, mathematics and applied mathematics, mathematical statistics, and optimization. We provide courses to students in most degree programmes in mathematics, science and engineering.
