In my doctoral dissertation Hundra氓rsfl枚den: 枚versv盲mningsskildringar i svensk samtidsprosa (Hundred-year floods: depictions of floods in contemporary Swedish fiction, 2023) I examine flood depictions in Swedish novels published during the 2010s. The study applies an ecocritical perspective and explores the ways in which ideas around water, time, space and place characterized the narratives in four different depictions of flooding.
My postdoctoral project 鈥漅adioaktiva rum: k盲rnkraft, motst氓nd och spatialitet i svensk sk枚nlitteratur 1974鈥2022鈥 concerns the depiction of nuclear power plants and radioactivity in contemporary Swedish poetry and prose. The study is based in an ecocritical spatial perspective and focuses on how geographical and spatial relationships are constructed and renegotiated in relation to the nuclear power plant as place in fiction.
In addition to my research I have also taught courses on ecocriticism, postcolonial criticism, children鈥檚 and young adult literature, as well as creative writing.
