One area of research is about understanding the spread of antimicrobial resistance among microbial communities, both in the human gut and the environment.

Based on clinical trials, I also investigate how probiotic and prebiotics supplementation modulates the infant/child gut microbiome and host immune response or inflammation in relation to clinical outcomes.

In a collaboration with colleagues in the neuroscience field, we use a mouse model to investigate the gut microbiome-brain axis in relation to diet and cognition.
