Cardiovascular disease remains one of the leading causes of illness and death worldwide. At the same time, modern healthcare generates increasingly detailed information about the anatomy and function of the heart through techniques such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and ultrasound. My research focuses on how this information can be used in new ways to understand cardiovascular function in individual patients and identify changes that may be relevant to future disease.
A central part of my research involves advanced medical imaging, visualization, and analysis of cardiac structure, motion, and blood flow. By combining medical knowledge with technology and computational methods, we can study the cardiovascular system in ways that were previously not possible.
A recurring goal of my research is to bring technological and medical innovations closer to clinical practice. Through interdisciplinary collaboration across healthcare, medical research, engineering, and innovation, the aim is to develop methods that can ultimately contribute to more personalized and preventive cardiovascular care.
