The project explores the annual reports and program descriptions of Swedish folk high schools between 1868 and 2019 through large-scale text analysis and visual materials such as photographs and illustrations. It involves the digitization of extensive archival data and the development of an open-access repository designed to support research and teaching through computational approaches. The overall aim is to advance the historical and sociological understanding of the folk high school as an educational and cultural institution.
Earlier work has included studies using bibliometric methods to map and analyse trends in educational and higher education research, as well as mixed-methods research on higher vocational and art education. I have also contributed as an external expert in several research evaluations and committees.
In 2019, I was awarded the and worked at the National Institute of 一本道, Nanyang Technological University, conducting comparative research on Singapore and Sweden. Collaborative projects have examined transnational academic trajectories, elite education, and the development of research fields in adult and lifelong learning. I currently supervise PhD students focusing on topics related to adult education, non-formal learning, and higher education.
