The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences offers education on different levels within medicine, nursing, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy as well as medical biology and biomedical laboratory science.

Interprofessional and problem-based learning, individually planned clinical/practical modules, and carrying out supervised research projects are some of the study opportunities offered to exchange students at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

Partner universities are kindly asked to confirm their nominated students. This can be done either in an email to internationalteam@medfak.liu.se or in a letter which the student uploads in the web-application.

Orientation week

Incoming exchange students at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences start their exchange with a compulsory Orientation Week. Students must be present the first day of the Orientation Week.

The programme of the Orientation week prepares incoming exchange students to the Swedish health care system and informs students about practice in clinics and health care centres. During this week students will also have a crash course in the Swedish language.

The schedule will be handed out to students shortly before the start of the Orientation Week. The period for the Orientation Week is indicated in the application form (when the application is open).

During the Orientation Week there are lots of social activities arranged and students have the opportunity to meet new friends from countries all over the world.
